StarKist Co. Does Not Package Tuna in Ghana

The U.S. Food & Drug Administration has informed StarKist Co. that canned tuna wrongly labeled as StarKist product from Ghana has entered the U.S. market.  StarKist Co.  did not package, manufacture or process this canned tuna product, nor does StarKist Co. package tuna in Ghana; the majority of our tuna is produced in either American Samoa or Ecuador, with a small amount also produced in Thailand.

PITTSBURGH, PA – March 1, 2011 – StarKist Co., a leading producer, distributor and marketer of shelf-stable seafood products in the United States, announced today that Mr. In-Soo Cho was named the company’s new President and Chief Executive Officer.  Cho will assume his new office on March 1.
